The Black Peak Expedition, also known as Kalanag (6,387 m), is one of the most thrilling and prestigious expeditions in the Indian Himalayas. Located in the Bandarpunch mountain range of Uttarakhand, Black Peak is the highest peak of the group, towering over the Ruinsara Valley.
This expedition is a perfect challenge for climbers who want to progress from trekking peaks to technical mountaineering expeditions. With steep slopes, long summit push, and technical sections involving ice, snow, and rock, the climb demands physical endurance, mental strength, and technical climbing skills.

Day 1: Arrival at Dehradun – Drive to Sankri (1,920 m)
Day 2: Sankri – Taluka – Trek to Seema (2,560 m)
Day 3: Seema to Ruinsara Tal (3,500 m)
Day 4: Acclimatization at Ruinsara Tal
Day 5: Ruinsara Tal to Black Peak Base Camp (4,200 m)
Day 6: Load ferry to Camp 1 – return to Base Camp
Day 7: Shift to Camp 1 (5,200 m)
Day 8: Camp 1 to Summit Camp (5,800 m)
Day 9: Summit Attempt (6,387 m) – Return to Camp 1/Base Camp
Day 10: Reserve/Buffer Day for Summit
Day 11: Base Camp to Seema
