Product liability insurance is a very neglected insurance coverage in India and customers, especially those who fall in the small, small and medium enterprises category, do not take this insurance or when they do, they take very minimal coverage. With the amended Consumer Protection Act of 2019, many of the provisions of which have been notified in the Gazette, there is likely to be a major change in the product liability regime
