After chasing 387 in their second innings, England was out for 192 in 62.1 overs.
Washington Sundar was exceptional, scoring 4/22 with support from Akash Deep (1), Jasprit Bumrah (2/38), and Mohammed Siraj (2/31).
India’s Stutter in the Chase
India collapsed to 58/4 at stumps after hitting a 193 target, leaving KL Rahul (33)* and nightwatchman Akash Deep (out on the final ball of the day) to play into Day 5.
Karun Nair scored 14; Shubman Gill left for 6 and was caught behind off Brydon Carse; and Yashasvi Jaiswal was caught for a duck by Jofra Archer.
Late in the day, Ben Stokes and Brydon Carse put a lot of pressure on England, turning the tide back in their favor.
India Trail By 135, But 4 Wickets Down
India got off to a strong start as they attempted to reach 193, but an inspired England attack held them to 58/4. They are facing a difficult last day on a pitch that is turning against them, down by 135 with KL Rahul still standing. England now has the psychological advantage heading into Day 5 after their impressive bowling performance and late-session goal.
