The Texas Super Kings (TSK) had a rollercoaster of a ride in MLC 2025, filled with big wins, killer performances and some painful moments too. They finished in the top two after 10 games, showing they’re a seriously strong team. But sadly, their dream of lifting the trophy ended again — this time in the playoffs.

Let’s break down how TSK’s season went, game by game, and who stood out the most.

Starting Strong: 3 Wins in a Row

Match 1 vs MI Cape Town
The opening match saw TSK pulling off a thriller! Devon Conway scored a solid 65 and Calvin Savage smashed a 34-ball 50. TSK posted 185 and just managed to win by 3 runs, with MI Cape Town giving them a real scare at the end.

Match 2 vs LA Knight Riders
TSK dominated again. Daryl Mitchell chipped in with 36, but it was Noor Ahmad who stole the show. His 4 wickets completely destroyed LAKR’s batting lineup. TSK won big — by 60 runs.

Match 3 vs Seattle Orcas
Batting wasn’t great this time — just 153 runs. But then the bowlers stepped up big time! Zia-ul-HaqNoor, and Burger all took 3 wickets each. Seattle got bowled out for just 60! One of the most one-sided games of the season.

Big Runs, Bigger Problems

Match 4 vs SF Unicorns
Faf du Plessis smashed a stunning 100, but it wasn’t enough. Unicorns chased down 198 in just 16.1 overs — thanks to Finn Allen and Matt Short. A big shock for TSK’s bowling unit.

Match 5 vs Washington Freedom
Another massive total — 220/6 with Faf hitting 69 — but again the bowlers couldn’t defend. Mitchell Owen and Andries Gous batted brilliantly and chased it down. Suddenly, defending totals looked like a serious problem for TSK.

Back on Track

Match 6 vs LA Knight Riders
Ranjane scored a fine 70, Ferreira added 43 and TSK posted 196. This time the bowlers did well and LAKR were kept to just 144. TSK needed that win badly.

Match 7 vs MI New York
Wow what a match! Faf smashed 103 not out, Ferreira hit a 20-ball 53 and TSK made 223. MI NY gave a fight but Akeal Hossein bowled a brilliant spell (4–1–15–3) to help TSK seal the win.

Match 8 vs Washington (Rain Game)
Only 5 overs per side — but TSK still dominated. Ranjane and Ferreira went wild again, scoring 87/2. Washington were 44/4 and TSK grabbed an easy win, even without Faf.

Close Loss and Big Bounce Back

Match 9 vs SF Unicorns
TSK came close — really close. Chasing 149, they needed 3 runs off the final ball… and missed it. Lost by just 1 run! It was heartbreaking.

Match 10 vs Seattle Orcas
Faf scored 91, Ranjane 65*, and then Adam Milne took a 5-wicket haul to blow Seattle away. This win helped TSK finish in the top 2 and enter playoffs in strong form.

Playoffs Disappointment

Qualifier 1 vs Washington
Bad luck hit hard. Rain washed out the match without a single ball. Because Washington topped the table, they went straight to the final. TSK had to play Qualifier 2.

Qualifier 2 vs MI Cape Town
TSK made 166/5 — with Faf scoring 59 and Akheil Hossain smashing 55 off 32. But MI Cape Town chased it down in the last overs. Pollard and Pooran took the game away and with that, TSK’s journey ended.

  • Donnovan Ferreira — 248 runs, SR 213 (super destructive!)

Final Thoughts: So Close, Yet Again

Texas Super Kings played some of the best cricket in MLC 2025. Their batting line-up was on fire all season. Faf was a beast, Ferreira was a finisher, and Ranjane was super consistent. Bowlers like Noor and Milne turned games around. But rain and one bad playoff match ended the dream again.
