Match Summary
Tim Seifert and Rachin’s massive inning, New Zealand scored 190
After losing Finn Allen early, New Zealand got off to a strong start by choosing to bat first. Rachin Ravindra (63 off 41) and Tim Seifert (75 off 45 balls) formed a second-wicket partnership that set the stage for a large total. The two combined aggressiveness and astute placement to add 108 runs.
With a useful cameo of 26 off 16 balls in the final overs, Michael Bracewell led the team to a respectable 190/6. The latter stages were difficult for Zimbabwe's bowlers to manage, especially Tendai Chatara (2/36).
Tony’s brave inning, but Zimbabwe all out under 130
Zimbabwe failed early in its 191 chase and never recovered. With a brilliant spell of 4/12, Ish Sodhi raced through the top and middle order, almost ending the match by the midway point of the innings.
With a brave 40 off 28 balls, Tony Munyonga was the only player to offer any resistance, but the absence of partnerships and pressure on the scoreboard led to frequent wickets. Zimbabwe was bowled out for 130 in 18.5 overs thanks to solid support from Matt Henry (2/34) and Lockie Ferguson (1/22).
