An Automated Document Inserter (ADI), also known as an ADI, is a machine used to streamline mailroom operations by automatically stuffing varying sizes of inserts into envelopes. ADIs can process a large volume of mail quickly and accurately through the use of inserter modules and highly customizable programming.
An Automated Document Inserter (ADI) works through an automated process of document insertion. Documents and inserts are first loaded into trays or hoppers based on job specifications. The inserter reads data from a file that has been uploaded, such as names, addresses and appropriate inserts for each recipient. As the envelopes move through the machine on a conveyor belt, the ADI inserts collated documents in the proper order inside each envelope. State-of-the-art sensors ensure accurate folding, inserting and sealing of each envelope. Advanced models can process over 15,000 envelopes per hour.
