The Elizabeth Line is the sophisticated younger sibling of the London Underground. It is spacious, air-conditioned, and surprisingly fast. Watching the map on the screen glow as you slice through the city’s underbelly is weirdly hypnotic. It’s the Goldilocks zone: cheaper than a private car, faster than a bus, and far more civilized than wrestling a massive hardshell suitcase onto the steep stairs of the older Tube lines. It feels like the future of London, momentarily silencing the city’s ancient, creaky infrastructure.
